A lot of photographers I interviewed included engagement pictures with the package cost. I liked that, because it gave me a chance to see the photographer in action (and kinda relieved my fears about the wedding day!) and also it got us more comfortable with being "models" since we'd never really been the subject of pictures before. We turned our engagement pictures into a guest book, too. :-) We made one of the pictures into magnets and gave them out as favors for the wedding.

We just had a photographer friend take our engagement pictures, and while they might not be the quality a professional would come up with, the price was right and we got good pictures to remember the time. Definitely worth it.
