Bride & Groom Getaway :: Classic Car

Monday, August 31st, 2009

This week I am going to spend the week exploring the possibilities of a variety of modes of getaway transportation.

Your most basic and commonly seen wedding getaway is the classic car.  Brides and grooms rent these beautiful cars for their picturesque photos and fun departures.

When will you ever drive a car like this unless you rent it for this one moment.  Talk with your father and grandfather, maybe they grew up saving for one dream car, or inherited a car that is now seen as a classic.  These stories will not only create great memories, but they will add meaning to your big day!

Martini Madness

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Serve your martini’s in style with a Martini Luge at your wedding.  Have your guests hold their glass at the bottom of the luge, while the bartender prepares their next drink and sends it down a ‘chiller’ ride through the martini luge.

Use a chic monogram or up-lighting to highlight the luge for your guests, making everyone notice it right when they walk in.  Consider having a special martini recipe, one created just for you and your husband using your favorite drinks.  Or make it a true martini bar offering a variety of flavors, fun names and garnishes—your guests will love creating their own martini.

99 Red Balloons

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

redballoon

Not only do I love the color red but there is something captivating about balloons.  Their weightless selves float by without a care in the world—held to this world by a single string.  Their colors immediately draw your eye to them along with a variety of shapes and sizes filling the area.  Photographers are just as entranced by these balloons as I am. Recently a lot of creative engagement and wedding pictures have been enhanced with the addition of balloons.

Where NOT to eat before your Wedding Day

Monday, August 24th, 2009

When in doubt, fry it. At The Chip Shop in Brooklyn, New York, you can experience the greasiest, fattiest fried food there is. Owner Chris Sell opened the restaurant in 2001 and brought his passion for frying British chips to New York. Unusual items include hard-boiled eggs, pudding, mac and cheese, candy bars, cupcakes and Twinkies…ALL FRIED!

You read a lot about the ‘right’ diet and the ‘right’ fitness routine to get you in the best shape of your life for your wedding day. What you don’t read about are those celebrations with friends and outings to new restaurants that turn into guilty pleasures during a stressful planning process.  This is a restaurant you might NOT want to eat at before your big day…

I guarantee they will surprise you with all of the creative foods they have thrown in the fryer!  Check out this picture of Fried Pizza…as if the pizza wasn’t greasy enough!  They will even let you bring in your own food to fry, get creative and be daring while trying new things at the Chip Shop.

There is something about this place that keeps guests coming back over and over again to give into their need for grease!  Again, not recommended before your wedding day.. but maybe you can send the boys out here the morning after the bachelor party. :)
